Manchester Terrier
The Manchester Terrier is a formidable looking dog with great posture and excellent build. Inquisitive, alert, and constantly inquiring about the slightest thing. This dog breed is agile and athletic and is most identifiable with its long tapered head. The eyes are somewhat almond shaped and appear to be focusing really hard whenever looking at an object or person. Tails are short. The Manchester Terrier is relatively easy to take care of and requires limited grooming.

The Manchester Terrier dog breed comes in multiple versions. There is the regular Manchester Terrier and the Manchester Toy Terrier. The difference is largely in the size and build of the dog. Personality wise both are similar though the regular and bigger dog breed may be more bold while the smalle breed more gentle in nature. Manchester Terriers are considered by most to be the oldest of all identifiable terrier breeds, finding mention in works dating from as early as the 16th century. This dog breed was primarily used as a rat hunter and a companion dog. The Manchester Terrier dog breed may have been crossed with the Whippet, Greyhound and other terriers to produce the Standard Manchester.
