Lakeland Terrier

The Lakeland Terrier is a dog breed, one of many terrier breeds, that originated in the Lake District of England. The breed us a descendant of the old English Black and Tan and Fell Terriers for the purpose of hunting vermin. The Lakeland Terrier resembles another dog breed in its lineage, the Welsh Terrier. Great looking dog that is known for its elongated head and tail that sticks straight up. Lakeland Terrier puppies are generally born dark and get lighter as they age. Though the Lakeland Terrier looks like it sheds, it typically does not shed very much.

Temperament:Energetic, passionate, and loving dog. The Lakeland Terrier loves to play with children and has the energy to entertain all day long. Training when Lakeland Terriers are puppies is generally recommended as the dog breed like to dig and cause various types of household chaos. The terrier learns fairly quickly and is up to the challenge of making their owners happy.
Size:Height does not exceed 15 inches. The Lakeland Terrier breed is popular due to its stretched out head and small-medium size. Weight is generally 15-17 pounds depending on gender.
Living Conditions:Indoor or outdoor dog. This dog breed can play by itself outside though it prefers to be around other dogs and people. If you don't have a yard, the Lakeland terrier does well indoors. If the dog stays indoor, he/she will typically remain active. Do not expect an indoor dog that sleeps all day long.

Health Issues:Generally healthy breed who do not traditionally follow any types of genetic diseases. Fresh pet supplies and annual visits to the veterinarian will ensure a healthy Lakeland terrier.
ExerciseExercising and running around outside is recommended. Lakeland terriers enjoy playing fetch and other outdoor skill activities. High stamina and strong energy level.
