The German Shorthaired Pointer is a medium to large size dog. It was first bred to be an all around type of dog that could point, trail and retrieve on land or in water. It quickly became a popular hunter and companion dog. The German Shorthaired Pointer can grow to a height of about 26 inches and weight up to 70 pounds.
It’s a enthusiastic dog and is very friendly and gets along with children. It is a hardworking and trainable dog. A family that can provide him with a high level of activity would suit this dog the best.
