The dalmatian is a large size dog. When people think about dalmatians, they think of fire trucks. The dalmatian has been in the US since the beginning. They were originally bred to guard passengers and property and took a liking to running with horses. Back then, fire engines were drawn by horses and thus the image and perception that it’s a fire engine dog.
The dalmatian grows to a height of about 19 to 24 inches and can weigh from 45 to 65 pounds. The Dalmatian is a lively and active dog and likes to run. It makes a great watchdog.
