The dachshund is a easily recognizable dog that has a long body with short legs. There are actually two sizes for a dachshund. One is the miniature and the other is the standard. Both types come in 3 different coat varieties – long, smooth and wirehaired. The dachshund weighs between 16 to 32 pounds depending on which type.
The dachshund is a friendly and good natured dog. Because of their size, they can adapt to most living conditions.
