The Canaan Dog was originally bred to be a herd and guard dog. It is a medium size dog that is large and strong. It can weigh from 35 to 55 pounds and reach a height of about 24 inches. Because of it’s personality, the Canaan dog is an alert and vigilant dog. It is a devoted dog that loves to be around family and can be protective toward strangers.
A trait that Canaan dogs have is that they tend to be most active in the morning and evening.
