The Bearded Collie or “Beardie” is a medium-sized herding dog with a shaggy coat and ever-wagging tail. The Beardie has a broad head, short muzzle and a shaggy coat all over his body, even under his chin. The outer coat is waterproof and dense while the undercoat is thick and soft. The color of the coat changes over the life of the dog. Puppies are generally brown, black, fawn or blue. This dog is an active and hardy breed.
The Bearded Collie is an affectionate and charming dog. They make the perfect companion for a child. He is playful and lively and do not like to be left alone. They are a high energy dog that are noisy barkers. Obedience is a must since they can be headstrong at times.
